Welcome to therapy—
this is radical self care for trying times.
You may find yourself here because you are struggling with emotional wounds, burn out, traumatic experiences, questions about your self worth, or the lonely and marginalizing effects of systemic oppression.
As a therapist, I believe our strengths often wait, hidden and disguised, in these moments of deep distress and hurt. If we take the time to slow down and listen closely, our emotional world can show us the way to a more satisfying and fulfilling life.
In therapy, we will radically embrace the full complexity of what it means to be human. And together, we can find ways to help you move forward with authenticity and intention one step at a time.
Hi! My name is Meaghan Halverson (she/they).
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. I practice a holistic approach to healing that strives to integrate and go beyond traditional insight-based talk therapy. My mission is to offer a range of creative, somatic, and group offerings that support personal and collective growth and liberation.
My work is anti-racist, liberation-focused, LGBTQIA+, and neurodiversity affirming. I believe personal healing and broader social change are inextricably linked. We cannot heal one without the other.

Difficult or overwhelming experiences can shape how we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around us. Rather than viewing these responses as something wrong with you, I approach them with curiosity, compassion, and care. After all, these responses where there to keep you safe on some level for some amount of time. You remain in control of what you choose to share, and there is no pressure to revisit painful experiences before you feel ready.
-
You are the expert of your own experience. I see my role as providing a supportive listening space, some trained perspective, and occasional moments of challenging you to help you reconnect with yourself and find ways to live an authentic and fulfilling life.
-
The cultural and social environments we live in shape our personal histories, relationships, and sometimes even our DNA. Together, we can explore how these influences may have shaped the way you see yourself, the expectations you carry, and the patterns you have developed to navigate the world.
-
The mind-body relationship is a two way street. Therapy that only attends to our thought patterns misses a huge piece of the processing power that lies in our body’s felt sensations and subtle movements. Not only will we explore what’s on your mind, but we will also find moments to drop into how your body is experiencing your mind.
Issues we can explore together:
-
Sometimes life feels heavy and getting through the day takes more energy than you have available. These feelings can compile and leave you feeling distant from yourself and others. We can explore underlying experiences or traumas that may have left you feeling this way.
-
Anxiety might be holding the reins on your life if your mind won't slow down, you feel constantly on edge, or it's difficult to find a sense of ease amid life's uncertainties. Together we can build a sense of internal safety and develop resources to help you face life’s unknowns.
-
Whether it is a single overwhelming event or a series of compiling stressful experiences, the past can continue to shape how we feel, relate to others, and navigate the world. In therapy, we can make space to process these memories and create new healing experiences for your body and mind.
-
We can experience grief after a death loss, relationship loss, health loss, or any other major life change. This is a time of major transition that can affect us on mental, emotional, physical, and sometimes spiritual levels. In therapy, we will make time and space to move together through what this loss means for you.
-
Feeling stretched too thin, running on empty, or struggling to find balance amid life's demands? You may feel disconnected from yourself and what once felt meaningful. Together we will re-identify with what matters to you most at this moment and build a roadmap to help you create a life worth living.
-
The quality of our relationships have a huge impact on our wellbeing. When we feel disconnected, caught in recurring patterns, or stuck in conflict that never moves forward, it can be a sign we need to explore the deeper layers of how we relate to others and to ourselves. Therapy gives us the space to self-reflect, identify our deepest unmet needs, and learn new relational skills for moving forward.
In therapy, we will make space to slow down, get curious, and explore new ways of moving through life with intention and purpose.
